This is what I like about blogging.
Somebody ALWAYS knows.
Apparently, Safari is now up to v60.
The v56 I received last night fixes a long list of mostly minor glitches
affecting certain Web sites - eBay being one of them, where some Safari
users here and in Germany had reported access problems. There were also
a bunch of cookie issues straightened out for various sites and
situations.
I'm not going to post the whole page of fixes. Suffice it to say, this
is still beta software - albeit beta software that already is giving IE a
run for the money.
There should be an Apple general update "soon." Whether that is this
week or next, I don't know. "Soon," is all I'm told.
I'm growing fond of Safari, though there are occasionally annoying quirks. I'm looking forward to a more stable, reliable version, but the beta is nice to use... when it works right!
Posted by: MariannHow do I get a hold of v60? I'm on 56 still also from a friend and interested how to stay on top of things.
Posted by: Grant on February 11, 2003 04:48 PMHmmmm. I just checked Apple's website and they appear to only be offering v56 at the moment. Am I missing something?

Posted by: Scott on February 11, 2003 08:21 PMwhere is v56 or v60 [safari]?
Neither shows up at apple.com searches.
If you do infact have a newer version then someone has broken the rules and taken a big chance and passed this software on to you. Kinda sad really. I am sure posting this info to your website makes the message even more clear to Apple to not discuss apps with the public until they are fully baked.
gary, do what I do - head to Apple's website and download the
officially released version. Use it when you can, and use IE (or
whatever else) as a backup for pages that don't work. Submit bugs to
Apple on stuff that is broken and patiently wait for any updates.
HAAA HAAAA
I have Safari v60 too.... :p you can download it at
Posted by: I'm gona get you sucka on February 12, 2003 03:45 PMErm, it now appears in Software Update.
Fixes some DHTML layout problems it was having with my Advertiser Links widget on travel.guardian.co.uk, so I'm happy!
Doesn't seem to work when browsing images in iTools homepage though.
I've also filed a bug report on javascript: urls as bookmarks; these don't seem to work at all. Shame 'cause MT 2.6 offers such links for quick posting from any web-page.
